The bilingual book, Antigua's Amazing Sawdust Carpets/Las increíbles alfombras de aserrín de Antigua, showcases the Holy Week traditions of Antigua, Guatemala, through beautifully illustrated watercolor scenes. At each stage of making the sawdust carpets, Annika, the enthusiastic young daughter of the family, asks, “Can I help?” Understanding the significance of the holiday, Annika's family identifies ways she can contribute and helps her realize that it takes everyone, no matter how small, to make Antigua's amazing sawdust carpets.
